Hello, everyone!

It has recently come to our attention that not everyone has a 'strong' password for their account. We would like to ensure that everyone playing CABAL Online is secure from the threat of potential account intrusion. In our experience, whenever someone has had their account accessed by an unknown party, it was often due to the account owner having had a weak password or having had given the password out to others. In the hopes of increasing account security, we would like to offer the following advice:

#1) Have a secure username. This is very important: Don't create a character name that is the same as your login ID. If you have done that, we unfortunately cannot change your user ID. We suggest that some time in the future you change your character name if possible. Also, we advise that you post on the forums under a different OGPlanet account from your game account.

#2) NEVER share your account information with other people. This is the leading cause of compromised accounts. Your account information is your identity. If someone else has this information, they can access your account or attempt to gain access to your account by pretending to be you.

#3) Have a secure password. We have posted about passwords in the past. While we are no longer experiencing Alz rips (just the old kind of account hacks,) there are still many good reasons for having a secure password. To help you create a more secure password,  we would like to offer the following advice:

1) Your password should be at least 12-16 characters in length. At the very minimum, a password should be 8 characters long.

2) Your password should contain numbers as well as letters.

3) Do not have words in your password. Passwords such as "pizza" or even "pizza456" are very easy to guess.

4) Passwords should not follow simple patterns on the keyboard. People may think that "qwerty" is a difficult password to guess, but it is probably one of the first passwords someone would try to guess.

5) The strongest passwords are completely random. These passwords may be hard to remember, but you can be sure they are also impossible to guess. An example would be something like “b802jd0b9a”.

Following these rules will really help secure your account!

If you have the time, we encourage you to change your password right away. These simple instructions will help you do just that.

1) Log into your OGPlanet account on our home page (if you have not already).

2) Follow this link (or use the My Account link on the home page): https://id.ogplanet.com/account/confirm/userinfo/form.og

3) Enter the answer to your Secret Question.

4) Click on the 'Edit Password' link button.

5) Finally, input your old password and the new password you want to use. Afterwards simply click the Submit button.

If you followed these instructions using the methods above, you should now have a new, secure password.
